Teaching Apprenticeship (closed for 2024)
Get paid to train to teach…no fees to pay and earn while you learn.
There has never been a better time to consider this route into teaching! We are excited to introduce our Level 6 Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeship programme, which leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
Our Teaching Apprenticeship programme is a paid work-based route into teaching. This route provides a holistic approach to teacher training, combining immediate practical experience, personalised support, financial stability, and flexibility. If you're seeking a dynamic and immersive pathway into teaching, our apprenticeship program is the ideal choice.
Choose this nationally recognised teacher training alternative route if you want:
- To Earn While You Learn: Unlike other routes, you'll receive a competitive salary throughout your training, ensuring financial stability as you pursue your career in teaching. There are no fees for apprentices. The fees are paid by the school through their Apprenticeship Levy or through government co-investment if the school is not a levy payer. Student finance and maintenance loans are not available. You are paid a salary on the unqualified teacher scale (UNQ1). Certain rules apply.
- Enhanced Practical Experience: Our apprenticeship training, like our other routes into teaching, immerses you in the real teaching scenarios as you take on the role of the classroom teacher, better preparing you for your future in the classroom.
- Career Progression: If you’re currently working as an unqualified teacher, cover supervisor or teaching assistant, this apprenticeship offers new opportunities for career progression, higher earning capacity, recognition, and status.
- Accelerated Career Opportunities: Successful completion of our programme increases your chances of securing permanent employment in your employing school.
- Immediate access to rewards and benefits: As an employee of Red Kite Learning Trust, you'll enjoy a range of benefits from day one, including a generous pension scheme with an employer rate of 19.5%, £5000 cycle to work scheme, discounted gym, family health, private medical insurance and dental care plans, discounts and online offers at major high street/online retailers and our employee assistance programme accessible by you and your family.
