Woodhouse Moor was once again filled with energy and colour on Saturday morning as Red Kite Teacher Training returned for its third Parkrun Takeover, bringing together trainees, mentors, colleagues and supporters from across the partnership and beyond.

After several days of heavy rain, the weather held off on Saturday morning, providing a welcome break in the clouds and ideal conditions for the weekly 5km run. Participants and volunteers gathered in the early morning mist, creating an uplifting atmosphere as they took part or supported the event through volunteering roles.

A sea of Red Kite bobble hats and bandanas added a splash of colour across the Moor, while colleagues and trainees worked alongside the Woodhouse Moor Parkrun volunteer team to ensure the event ran smoothly. The team also had positive conversations with members of the local community interested in training to teach, sharing information about routes into the profession and the support available through Red Kite Teacher Training.

After the run, many participants and volunteers enjoyed refreshments at Wrangthorn Church, which kindly offers post Parkrun refreshments on the first Saturday of each month, providing a welcoming space to warm up and chat.

Red Kite Teacher Training would like to thank everyone who took part, volunteered, or supported the takeover. Events like this highlight the power of community and the importance of wellbeing.
